Is there a sticker that can be used of Australian Women who served in World War II. I have added her Military Service Sources to her profile.

If someone could view her profile and advise or add the correct sticker it would be greatly appreciated. Bethea Ellen (MacDonald) Foulger

posted by Diane Darcy
Yes, I thought that was probably the case, but none are suitable for her profile, so I'll won't bother with a sticker.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

posted by Diane Darcy
Hi Diane, those are only examples, you can add whatever text you like that's applicable to the profile's service.
Could each war sticker section start with a blank template to copy and paste into profiles please? I'd rather paste in a template with missing values than one which is wrong for the person and have to make sure I have corrected all of them. The examples are great, but I don't want to add one then change the values.For example:
Image:No Country/branch / not in table
... ... ... served in World War I
Service started:
Unit(s):
Service ended:

{ { The Great War |branch= |startdate= |enddate= |units= |rank= |unit= }}

Thank you.

good point Scott, I'm going to add the medals tonight (or tomorrow!) so I'll do that at the same time. :) Cheers, Margaret
George Alan Scarlett (1900-1967) enlisted on 1918 but never left Australia. According to his records he wasn't entitled to any medals because he was never sent overseas.

Does he qualify for the WW2 sticker?

posted by Amanda Myers
Hi Amanda, I think it is appropriate to use a sticker for anyone that enlisted, whether or not they met the criteria for medals.

Do we have a category for those that fought in the Boar War? https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Firman-55 fought in 2 wars and the sticker I used for WW1 placed him in that category but I'm not sure if I used the right sticker for the Boar War. Do I need to add a Boar war category separately?

Thanks Amanda

posted by Amanda Myers
Hi Amanda, that's the best sticker for the Boer war, and yes you need to add any categories manually. These are the Boer war sub-categories to choose from, https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Australian_Army%2C_Second_Boer_War

Cheers, Margaret

It should be noted that the Rank is spelled "Sergeant" and not Sargent.

Hi,

I am wanting to post a Boer War sticker on one of my profiles. The one above refers to the Army Medical Corps. I cannot find anything to suggest my chap was with a medical corp. Is there an alternate sticker?

Thanks, Sue

posted by Sue Giles
Hi Sue, the above are only examples. Are you looking at the "Veteran Recognition" sticker? If so, the text= parameter can be used for any descriptive text. If you'd like some help with the sticker, let me know the link to the profile.

Cheers, Margaret

thank you - here is the profile in question. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Cleland-1104
